A Patient's Rights & Responsibility.

Calsayseat Medical Group wishes to work in harmony with their patients. Our staff come to work to care for others.

You may find it helpful to know what our  patients’ rights and responsibilities are.

  • All patients have a right to be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect.
  • It is your responsibility to extend the same courtesy and politeness to the practice team.
  • You have a right to be seen urgently if your condition necessitates this.
  • It is your responsibility not to misuse urgent appointments.
  • It is your responsibility to inform us in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. The 24 hour cancellation number is 01224 849717.
  • It is your responsibility not to request a home visit unless it is strictly medically necessary.

It is the clinical team’s right and responsibility to make the final decision on whether a home visit is necessary.

You are entitled to request a chaperone for any intimate examination or procedure.

It is the Partners’ responsibility to decide if you should be removed from the list if you do not attend or fail to cancel your appointments.

Zero Tolerance Policy.
In line with the rest of the NHS, this practice has a zero tolerance policy whereby the use of aggressive or  threatening language and or violent behaviour towards any of our colleagues will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The clinical team, nurses and administrative staff  at our Practice have the right to do their work in an environment free from this type of behaviour and everything will be done to protect that right.

The definition of aggressive or threatening behaviour is if  the colleague feel threatened.

In general, if a colleague feels threatened, or there is abuse to a member of the team, then   a letter will be sent  from the Practice Manager advising  that this behaviour will not be tolerated. Any future violation of this policy may result in removal from the Practice list.

In extreme cases a patient may be advised of their immediate removal from the list.

There will be no appeal process
