 Travel Clinic

We have a travel clinic for Calsayseat registered patients only, where you can arrange travel advice, vaccinations and presciptions. This is usually run by our Nurse Practitioner, Dorothy Allan. It is very important to make your appointment as far in advance as possible, to give good time for vaccinations to work properly. To book in please phone or call in at the reception desk, and list who is travelling, where you are going to, and what time of year you plan to be there.

The travel form can be downloaded below, filled in for each person travelling, and left with reception when booking your appointment for the travel clinic

  • The travel clinic provides information and advice to travellers in order to protect their health and prevent illness.
  • Before deciding on the information and advice required a risk assessment must be carried out. Information regarding your travel plans and your past and current health and immunization status is an essential requirement in this process.
  • You will be asked to complete a risk assessment travel form before you attend the surgery for your appointment and this form should be returned to the surgery before you attend in order that the nurse can make a full assessment and organize prescriptions/injections required for your travel.
  • The travel clinic is not appropriate for certain categories of traveler:
  1. Those traveling within too short a time to allow a clinic appointment
  2. Complicated travel itineraries-this is outwith the scope of the travel clinic-such travelers will be directed to specialist travel clinics for expert advice (see list below for other travel clinics).
  3. Immunizations are charged at the normal NHS prescription charge but some recommended vaccines are only available privately.

Calsayseat Medical Group only charges fees for vaccines that are not administered through the NHS

Depending on the country you are visiting you may need a combination of NHS and private prescriptions

The charges are for a full course of vaccines only and are payable in advance of the course being commenced.
