Many young people feel uncomfortable about attending their doctors’ surgery or asking for advice. Please be reassured that all contacts with the surgery are confidential.
Teenage Clinic
The teenage health clinic is run on a Wednesday afternoon between 4pm – 5pm. Sylvia Burn our nurse leading this clinic has a very genuine and caring interest in young people’s health and well being. Everyone is treated as an individual.
At the teenage health clinic we can provide general health advice and support covering a wide range of topics from weight management and alcohol/smoking cessation to sexual health testing and contraception advice.
If you would like to attend an appointment with Sylvia at our new teenage health clinic. Please select option 3. Leave your name and telephone contact details. You will be phoned back by a trained nurse within one working day with an appointment.

You will speak directly to a receptionist who will assist you to get an appointment which will suit you or arrange for a doctor to call you back. You can decide whether you want to tell the receptionist why you want an appointment or not. All information given to a receptionist is confidential and is recorded for the doctor’s information.
Emergency Contraception
If you feel you are in need of emergency contraception ( the morning after pill) you must seek assistance as soon as possible. Do not wait until the following week as tablets may not be effective.
