The “Healthy Hoose” opened in August 1999 for the residents of Middlefield
and Smithfield. You don’t need to be ill to go along and see them they
can do MOT’s while-u-wait or just chat in general about lifestyle.
Christine Herron – Community
health worker works with individuals, groups and projects, helping them to identify ways of improving the health of the area.
Audrey and Dorothy
– Nurses available for advice on smoking, morning after pill, family
planning, well person checks, cervical smear tests, minor
injury/illness, asthma checks/advice. They also prescribe paracetamol,
headlice treatment and nicotine replacement products.
Pharmacist – A pharmacist
is now based at the Healthy “Hoose” on a part time basis. Kathleen McFarlane will be available to discuss a range of services which may include advice and counselling with regards to the patient’s needs.
